Our Recovery Community Center is a peer-led, inclusive, and supportive space where individuals and families can connect, build skills, and strengthen their recovery. These guidelines help us maintain a safe, respectful, and empowering environment for everyone.

1. Community & Respect

  • Treat all guests, volunteers, and staff with respect, compassion, and nonjudgment.
  • Honor the diversity of recovery pathways (12-step, SMART, harm reduction, MAT, abstinence-based, faith-based, and others).
  • Use welcoming, recovery-affirming language.
  • Everyone deserves to feel safe, included, and valued.

2. Confidentiality & Privacy

  • Respect everyone’s privacy: Do not share another person’s story outside the center.
  • No photos, videos, or recordings of others without explicit permission.
  • What you hear here stays here.

3. Substance-Free Environment

  • The RCC is a drug-, alcohol-, and vaping-free space.
  • Guests must be able to participate safely arriving actively intoxicated may result in being asked to return another time.
  • If you need support, staff or peer volunteers can connect you with recovery resources.

4. Participation is 100% Voluntary

  • Guests choose how and when to participate in groups, meetings, and activities.
  • The RCC does not require attendance, abstinence milestones, or program enrollment.
  • You set your own goals and we’re here to support your chosen path.

5. Use of Space & Resources

  • Please respect the building, furniture, computers, and materials—treat them as shared community resources.
  • Clean up after yourself and leave spaces as you find them.
  • Computers and equipment are available for recovery, wellness, job search, community, or educational purposes.
  • Follow any posted time limits so everyone has a chance to use resources.

6. Interpersonal Boundaries

  • Maintain healthy personal and physical boundaries. Always ask before initiating touch (like hugs).
  • Romantic or sexual behavior is not allowed in the center.
  • Refrain from disruptive behaviors, including yelling, threats, or harassment.
  • Respect others’ comfort levels—no pressure to share personal information.

7. Safety First

  • Weapons and dangerous items are not allowed.
  • If you see something unsafe, notify staff or peer volunteers immediately.
  • Service animals are welcome; emotional support animals follow RCC policy.
  • In a crisis, the RCC can offer support, grounding, and connection to community resources.

8. Family & Youth Friendly (if applicable to your RCC)

  • Parents or guardians are responsible for children they bring.
  • Youth-focused areas or programs may have additional guidelines.

9. Inclusivity & Anti-Stigma

  • We welcome individuals and families of all backgrounds, identities, and recovery stages.
  • Discrimination, bullying, or stigmatizing language is not tolerated.
  • Everyone’s recovery is valid—there is no “right way” to heal.

10. Restorative Approach to Conflicts

  • If guidelines are violated, staff may use supportive conversations, boundary-setting agreements, or time-away requests to keep the space safe.
  • Our goal is always repair, learning, and continued connection—never punishment.
