The Wellness Recovery Action Plan® or WRAP®, is a self-designed prevention and wellness process that anyone can use to get well, stay well and make their life the way they want it to be. It was developed in 1997 by a group of people who were searching for ways to overcome their own mental health issues and move on to fulfilling their life dreams and goals. It is now used extensively by people in all kinds of circumstances, and by health care and mental health systems all over the world to address all kinds of physical, mental health and life issues.

Life Connections Peer Recovery Services is offering this Facilitator training and re-fresher for those needing it and whoever was trained in the last two years and beyond., WRAP is now being understood here in Iowa as a vital tool to build into organizations and an investment into the person’s journey. You must be willing to hold the value and ethics of WRAP and its fundamentals. You will be embarking on a new path of recovery not just for yourself but with others in your community.

Learning Objectives: Through Participation in this training people will be able to:

• Apply Key Concepts of Recovery into their everyday life to improve their quality of life.
• Identify tools and action plans to counter the negative effects of life challenges and improve responses to disturbing thoughts and feelings to achieve improved states of wellness.
• Understanding of the fidelity, values, and ethics behind WRAP as a facilitator and the learning from others and the facilitator skills.
• Describe the history, foundations and structure of the Wellness Recovery Action Plan®.
