The Wellness Recovery Action Plan® or WRAP®, is a self-designed prevention and wellness process that anyone can use to get well, stay well and make their life the way they want it to be. It was developed in 1997 by a group of people who were searching for ways to overcome their own mental health issues and move on to fulfilling their life dreams and goals. It is now used extensively by people in all kinds of circumstances, and by health care and mental health systems all over the world to address all kinds of physical, mental health and life issues.
Seminar: WRAP Facilitator-Refresher Training
Course Description: Join Life Connections Peer Recovery Services and Iowa’s WRAP Facilitators and Re-Fresher’s through attending the 5-day WRAP Facilitator Training! Learn the evidence-based practices and methods that make WRAP groups so impactful at agencies and in our communities.
The WRAP Facilitator and Re-fresher training provides an experiential learning environment based on mutuality. Through learning to implement the evidence-based practices and methods, WRAP Facilitators create an empowering learning environment to support people to make sustained changes in their lives toward wellness. Participants in this course will be expected to participate in interactive learning activities and demonstrate their own experience with WRAP.
Who should take this course?
Individuals who wish to become a WRAP Facilitator.
Attendees are expected to have a solid working knowledge of WRAP and share their experiential knowledge of how WRAP can work.
To attend this training, it is expected that you have familiarity with the different parts of WRAP through completion of one of the following prerequisites
(which must have been conducted by WRAP Facilitators):
Seminar I: Developing Your Own WRAP (24 hours) OR
Copeland Center Correspondence Course

Why is this Training being offered? W.R.A.P. for the Effects of Trauma - WRAP is an evidence base practice and trauma effects so many and even more now with Covid-19 and our anxiousness.
Through Participation in these workshops people will be able to:
• Apply Key Concepts of Recovery into their everyday life to improve their quality of life.
• Identify tools and action plans to counter the negative effects of life challenges and improve responses to disturbing thoughts and feelings to achieve improved states of wellness.
Other objectives include: Avoiding Trauma, leaving unhealthy relationships, boundaries, choices to make for yourself, exchange listening, focusing, stress reduction, and getting a good night sleep.
